Wink Martindale

What’s that song? Who’s the performer? How did they get that name? What inspired those words? Why does this music touch my heart... make me smile... make me cry... make me want to dance, romance and fall in love? Whatever happened to the great hits I grew up with?

For the answers, tune in to THE HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL with the legendary WINK MARTINDALE on WHGM every Sunday from 10pm-Midnight. You’ll learn things you never knew about your favorite songs, both from Wink and from the artists themselves. It’s great fun, and you’ll love the music even more when you learn the sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, sometimes incredible but always fascinating stories behind it.

Winston Conrad "Wink" Martindale is an American disc jockey, radio personality, game show host, and television producer. In his six-decade career, he is best known for hosting Gambit from 1972 to 1976 (and again from 1980 to 1981), Tic-Tac-Dough from 1978 to 1985, High Rollers from 1987 to 1988, and Debt from 1996 to 1998. On June 2, 2006, Martindale received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2007, he became a member of the nominating committee of the Hit Parade Hall of Fame.

The all-new HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL with WINK MARTINDALE is written and produced by multiple award-winning producer Gary Theroux, who researched, wrote and co-produced the original epic 52-hour Billboard award-winning HISTORY OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL in 1978.
